Here are the big PowerPoints for the Animal Reproduction (Chapter 46) and Development (Chapter 47) lectures. For those of you that need to take the test, remember that the end of the Marking Period is arriving fast. Tests MUST be made up by the 27th, or they will go into the gradebook as a zero.

Dr.Himmelheber, how do you create a linkage map when the question states that you need to put each pair of genes in the correct sequences based on the recombinant frequencies?
@Chris R: To create a linkage map, remember that the recombination frequency = map units. The lower the recombination frequency, the closer two genes are to each other. The best strategy to answer the question is to find the pair with the largest distance and put them on the outsides of the map, and then work the rest out.
Dear Dr. Himmelheber, hope your having a good weekend. I was studying my notes over the weekend and I was wondering if you had decided which of the two lessons we would be studying, 1) Biotechnology, 2) Evolution? I wanted to ask so I can prepare myself for the upcoming test.
@Chris R#3: We will be starting evolution (Chapter 22) on Tuesday. I will give you a new schedule for Feb/Mar on Tuesday also.
